Abstract

The title cpds. contg. long-chain ester units of formula (I):- and short-chain ester units (II):- (where R is a dicarboxylic acid, minus its COOH gps. of m.wt. ca. 300; G is a poly(alkylene oxide)glycol, minus its OH gps. of m.wt. 400-4,000 with C:O ratio 2-4.3 D is a diol minus its OH gps. of m.wt. ca. 250), are prepd. by reacting a cpd. (III): (where R1 are each H or 1-10C alkyl) with HO-G-OH and HO-D-OH in the pres. of 0.2-2%, 1,3,5-tris(3,5,-di-t-Bu-4-OH-hydrocinnamoyl)hexahydro-s-triazine (IV). The stabilised title cpds. resist tearing, stretching, abrasion, flexing, oxidn. and degradation and/or discolouration by UV or heat.
