Abstract

Ingot mould feeder head is moulding in insulating and/or exothermic refractory material and has reinforcing elements incorporated in the moulding. When the feeder head is for use with a castellated ingot mould the reinforcing element is at least partially embedded in the moulded mass in the those parts of it facing the castellations. The reinforcing element may be a plate of metal or other material which may be solid, perforated or porous.
