Abstract

Composite linen featuring a first layer which is made of a permeable hydrophobic material with a broken or rough surface to minimise its contact area on a wearer's skin a secondary permeable layer which is hydrophilic, a third layer made of absorbant material and a backing of impermeable material e.g. plastic film. Pref. the first layer is a natural or synthetic foam with interconnecting cells, e.g. a polyurethane foam.
