Abstract
A filter unit for gas, or (non)viscous liqs. has an element e.g. of paper or glass wool, sandwiched between corrugated perforated plates, which are sealed, e.g. at three edges out of four, so that the fourth edge forms an inlet at one plate, and an outlet at the other. The filter unit is held between end plates; a number may be fitted together and operated in parallel; when viscous liqs. are being filtered the units may be surrounded by a heating coil. To trap metallic particles, the perforated plates may be magnetised metal. The filter may be cleaned without dismantling by back flow of fluid.
