Abstract
Satellite roller is intended for use when drying pasty, or semi-pasty, materials, such as potato pure, vegetable or fruit pulps or certain chemical prods., on internally-heated drums; the satellite rollers distribute and mix the prods. during the course of drying. The applicator forms a unit with bearings, a reducing gear and a driving motor; the unit fits on the circular profile of the framework carrying the drum. The gap between the roller and the drum can be regulated by the adjustable bearings, even while the machine is running. As each roller has its own drive it can be driven in the same direction as the drum or in the reverse direction, and at different speeds. The same unit may include two rollers, each with its own separate drive. The rollers may be provided with corrugations according to the nature of the prod. and the treatment to be effected.
