Abstract

The valve plungers of a pair of nozzles for injecting two independent fluids into a mixing chamber are linked so that the two valves open or close together. Pref. the valves are activated by the hydrostatic pressures generated in the feedstock fluids to urge the fluids into the mixing chamber. The valves move in opposite directions, towards a cylindrical mixing chamber. Each valve has a head in contact with adjustable belts which are connected by a combinationof levers with knife edge and ball pivots so that any motion by one valve needle forces or allows the other neelde immediately to move in the opposite directions, so that both open or closed together. The system is spring loaded shut until a threshold hydrostatic pressure develops in either valve. Pref. the degree of movement of each valve is mechanically adjustable to control the injection does. Direct valve coupling with a short response time and minimal friction ensures that both reagents are dosed simultaneously and for similar periods in spite of any relative pressure variations in either line. Can be set for small doses if desired.
