Abstract

1465903 Fuel injection pumps CAV Ltd 16 May 1974 [25 May 1973] 25245/73 Heading F1A In a rotary distributer fuel injection pump having a distributer member 11 including a delivery passage 13, 14 containing a delivery valve 17, the valve comprises an axially movable valve element 18 loaded towards a closed position by a spring 19, a restricted passage 23 passing through the valve element, and a valve ball 26 for closing the restricted passage 23. During delivery pump working chamber pressure in the passage 13 moves the valve element 18 to a position in which communication is established with the passage 14 through an axial passage 20 and parallel flow paths provided by the restricted passage 23 and a peripheral groove 22 in communication with the axial passage 20 via transverse ports 21.
