Abstract

Method of hardening sand and resin foundry elements (I) e.g. moulds or cores comprises forming a non-explosive mixture (II) of dimethylethylamine (DMEA) (III) and CO2 (IV) by bubbling (IV) through liquid (III), and passing (II) for a short time pref 1 second through (Ie. Pref (II) contains 10-50 pref. 40% the remainder being (IV). After passing (II) through (I) air or a neutral gas is passed through (I) for several seconds.
