Abstract

An injection parisons and then bottles, comprises a e.g. for forming parisons and then bottles, comprises a revolving support for the mould cores; the cores are fitted to vertical and horizontal faces respectively of the support, which rotates about an axis bisecting the angle between them, i.e. at 45 degrees to the horizontal, so that a 180 degrees rotation of the support interchanges the positions of the cores; a horizontal sliding mechanism advances and withdraws the support in relation to a fixed metal mould for forming the parison on one core, while a blow mould of metal receives the vertical core, together with the parison mounted on it; hydraulic equipment closes, opens and clamps the mould. An injection moulding machine has its nozzle projecting into the parison mould. This enables the injecting operation to be carried out in the horizontal, or most convenient position, whereas the parison is then turned vertical to prevent its walls becoming uneven in thickness.
