Abstract
Glass contains 1-30 mol % oxides of Bi, Sb or Pb and is immersed in Ag nitrile at 350 degrees C for 4 hrs. The infused silver ions are reduced in part by applying a stream of reducing gas (10% H2, 90% N2) at 300 degrees C for 10 hrs. The glass surface is electrically conducting and the resistance can be altered by applying pulsed potential difference.
