Abstract

A chromate-treated metal sheet with a layer of hydrated Cr oxide in a wt. of 0.1-0.8 mg Cr/dm2, is coated with a 0.05-2 mg/dm2 film applied from a soln. of a film-forming water-sol. resin which does not reduce Cr(VI), e.g. a triazine-HCHO resin, or Ti-modified or carboxylic acid-modified acrylic resin. The sheets, having good corrosion resistance and dye-receptivity, can be used to make rectangular boxes or screw-lids.
