Abstract

A connector for attachment to the valve e.g. of a liquid gas bottle in order to establish supply to a pipe, has a probe which opens the valve only when the connector is fully seated and is turned to lock, thus avoiding leakage, before seal is established. The connector is of bayonet type, and a central piece bearing the hollow valve probe interlocks with the outer cylinder, and turns with it when bayonet catch is locked, moving forward up a helical ramp on the face of the connecting pipe, so that valve is forced open, a seal having been already formed between valve socket and the probe. Gas passes through the hollow probe, and opens a non return valve in connector.
