Abstract

A vibrating sieve comprising rows of rectangular screens, butting end to end in frames and held in place by bolted flanking retainers; has torsion springs interposed between retainers and frames, which, when bolts are loosened to release screens, force retainers outwards and upwards pivoting about their upper edges. Pref. each spring has double coils, one on each side of a bolt, the central portion presses retainer, and the ends contact frame. The screens may easily be withdrawn and introduced consecutively from end of frame without risk of fouling retainers.
