Abstract

A copy shet for reproduction of an image of an original printed sheet by moisture diffusion between the sheets comprises (a) a moisture-impermeable transparent base, (pref. a plastic such as polystyrene) having (b) a moisture permeable coloured coating up to 50 mu thick firmly bondd to one surface of (a) containing combined dye or pigment. The moisture permeable layer when moistened and applied to a printed sheet reproduces an image of the original on the copy sheet in a contrasting colour which is readable from the transparent side. The moisture permeable coating is pref. a thermoplastic polymer, e.g. polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl butyral, cellulose nitrate, cellulose acetate, ethyl cellulose, polyvinyl acetate-crotonic acid or cellulose acetate-butyrate.
