Abstract

Continuous granulation of fertilisers is effected by spraying a moving layer, esp. a falling layer of solid fertiliser particles with an aq. fertiliser liquid, the moisture content of the granulate being held under the agglomeration point, and drying the sprayed particles by hot gases. The layer of fertiliser particles is sprayed with at least one fertiliser liquid jet which is placed in swinging or vibrating motion, with a periodically moving position where the liquid jet impacts the fertiliser particles. Enables the dimensions of the fertiliser granules to be accurately controlled, by controlling the distribution of the liquid used for spraying. Agglomeration of the granules is avoided.
