Abstract

The fabric comprises a core ply (e.g. 2.5-3.5 mm. thick) of cellular rubber material covered by pref. polyamide facing and lining fabrics (pref. 0.3-0.5 mm. thick), and the facing fabric and core ply are provided with 10-80 perforations per sq. decimetre. The width of the perforations is not >3 mm. to allow the passage of air but prevent the ingress of water by capillary action. Fabric of increased or decreased porosity may be used in selected regions e.g. knee, crutch and arm pit regions, of a garment. The fabric has good breathing properties and is waterproof.
