Abstract

Abrasive disc had an abrasive part consisting of polycrystalline diamond grains bonded by a metallic material e.g. bronze contg. 18-45 wt.% filler selected from graphite, hexagonal boron nitride with a particle size 50 mu, and/or MoS2 this filler having a particle size of 1-160 mu The small sized filler is used at low filler concentrations, and the large sized filler at high filler concentrations. The disc is used for dry grinding bonded carbide materials, such as cobalt-bonded tungsten carbide. Efficient grinding is obtained at lower powers, and less heating of the workpiece occurs.
