Abstract

The outer drum is mounted on a hollow shaft and is direct driven by a fixed motor. The inner drum is mounted on a coaxial centre shaft which is solid and to which the rotor of an hydraulic motor is fixed whose stator is fixed to the outer shaft so that the motor provides incremental drive. The pump feeding the hydraulic motor may be driven by the same motor as used for the direct drive of the hollow shaft.
