Abstract

Syringe cover comprises a flexible rubber cap and a rigid (plastic) sleeve which both enclose the needle before use. Pref. the sleeve seats in a reversed flange on the rubber cap to facilitate removal of both together. Pref. the end of the sleeve can fit into the base of the syringe to form a plunger for ejecting the contents of the syringe. Arrangement is esp. for disposable pharmaceutical dispensers using moulding to obtain complementary shapes involving both an elastic seal and a rigid guard. The plunger is not easily moved until the cap is refitted on the end.
