Abstract

Process. according to Dt. 1950669 for random web mfr. by melt-spinning thermoplastics, drawing off by fluid-operated jets, highly stretching and depositing filaments on a continuously moving air-permeable substrate, is modified by leading filaments, pref. polyester or polyamide, to a medium above 80 degrees C during drawing and stretching. Fluid used is air or another fluid at >=80 degrees C, and in pref. process filaments and hot air are led into tubes connected to the draw-jets, Pref. drawing rate is >2500 m/min. Advantage is that shrinkage behaviour of deposited filaments can be controlled.
