Abstract

Catalyst for treatment of (automobile) exhaust gases from internal combustion engines comprises 5.0-12.0 wt.% Cu (as the oxide) 0.5-4.0 wt.% Co (as the oxide) and opt. 0.5-2.0 wt.% Mn (as the dioxide) on an alpha-alumina support. In a first stage nitrogen oxides are reduced to nitrogen, and in a second stage carbon monoxide and unburnt hydrocarbons are oxidised by injecting air.
