Abstract

A meat-chopping bowl has a bottom delivery port coaxial with the mouth of a vertical cylinder into which chopped meat is fed via a valve-plate; basically a mould plates fits between the valve plate and the top of the cylinder, which has an upwardly spring-loaded piston; the mould plate can slide to locate a mould aperture over the cylinder mouth, for filling, or to a position where the moulded product can be removed from the aperture. The bowl and cylinder should be cooled to prevent deterioration of the meat. The combined meat-chopping and moulding unit is simple and cheap and ideal for small-scale prodn. of beefburgers and rissoles.
