Abstract
The knitting machine has a needle having a longitudinally extending slot in its shank. A fixed blade extends into the slot and the needle is inclined so that a yarn under tension, introduced into the slot, slides down the slot on to the blade and is cut. The device is used to cut yarns separating articles, e.g. pockets, knitted as a single web.
