Abstract

Artificial fertilizes comprising a mixture of a mineral fertilizer and 2-50% w/w of an organic product formed by treating residual sulphite lyes with NH3 and O2/ or on O2/contng. gas at elevated pressure and high temp. The mixed fertilizer gives higher crop yields than the organic or inorganic components singly (in equivalent amount). Pref., the lyes are treated with O2 and NH3 at >120 degrees C and a partial pressure of oxygen of >=5 ats. The weight ratio NH/3 sulphite lye dry matter is pref. >1.5/10.
