Abstract

Multi-stage absorption refrigeration system incorporates at least two supplementary absorbers in the form of evaporative heat exchangers through which refrigerant is recycled between the evaporator and the generator. High thermal efficiency of the system is particularly suted to the employment of non-polar, non-toxic, non-inflammable fluorocarbons as refrigerant and absorbent. In an example dichlorodifluoromethane is used as refrigerant together with trichlorotrifluoroethane as the absorbent.
