Abstract
The bricks contain 95-70% high grade clay 5-30% burnt caustic magnesite blended and milled to pref.60 mu mixed with a pore forming agent pref. hollow spherical corundum, formed and set at room temp and finally burnt at 1650 degrees C. Fire resistant material is Magnesium-Aluminium Spinel; formed bricks have density 0.7-2.0 gm/cm2 and porosity 80-40 vol%. The bricks are used at is approx. 1650 degrees C.
