Voltage dependent resistance of the mass type consists of a sintered body mainly consisting of ZnO, with 0.05-10.0 mole % BeO, and 0.05-10.0 mole % of Bi2O3, CoO, MnO, BaO, srO, or PbO, with electrodes placed on the body. The resistance has a non-linear performance, a low C-value, and a high n-value.
