Abstract

The levers of the lever drive mechanism are coupled onto the shafts carried by the bearings in the upper part of the press by means of a ring device so that rotation may be controlled to avoid seizure of the lever onto the shaft. A device is provided on the front of the shaft so that the drive mechanism is halted in the case of any shift of the shaft with respect to the lever caused by overloading. Replacement of the lever is thus facilitated and a control lever is positioned on the front of the lever to ensure it is accurately positioned when reassembled.
