Abstract

The yarn guide mechanism is mounted on a carriage which is movable on a support bar, and the carriage carries an electromagnet the ram of which is connected to an end of a lever on which a stud for locking engagement in a rack is provided, the other end of the lever carrying a spring loaded hammer. When a bobbin is full the electromagnet is excited to pivot the lever and move the stud out of engagement with the rack and the hammer into engagement with an inclined edge of a tooth of the rack. The hammer moves along the inclined edge moving the carriage to a position adjacent the next bobbin at which point the hammer engages an adjacent tooth and the lever is pivoted to lock the pin in the rack and move the hammer out of engagement with the rack. The mechanism indexes accurately.
