Abstract
The alloy generally comprises Cu, Zn, Pb and As, but after hot working above 650 degrees C, the beta phase forms, which remains on cooling to room temp. Utilising additions of 2.1-7.5% Al the delta phase is stabilised at temp. after hot working, which present together with the alpha phase at room temp., removes the susceptibility to dezincification. The alloy may also contain up to 2% Ni, 0.5% Fe, and 3% Mn.
