Abstract

The apparatus has a chamber for receiving washing liquid together with the gaseous stream, devices for introducing the two into the chamber in a prescribed direction, and slit-shaped venturi nozzles distributed in the chamber wall. The nozzles have widened inlet section which converges to a throat with narrowed passage. The axis of the converging gas inlet section and the throat extends lengthwise over the same distance and diverges from the prescribed direction mentioned.
