Abstract
A highly corrosion resistant alloy which can be welded and moulded comprises in wt.%: Cr 14.7 - 18, Ta 3.5 - 9.0, Mo 15 - 18, balance Ni. Opt. the alloy may contain (up to) 0.15 C, 1.50 Si and Mn each, 5.25 W, 7.0 Fe, 0.35 V, 10.5 Co, 4.0 Cu and Nb each. The alloy exhibits exceptional corrosion resistance to oxidising and reducing agents even in the presence of chloride ions.
