Abstract
The current-time product relay is used to set the exposure time and to compensate for supply voltate variations by controlling the tube voltage and current. The control circuit used regulates the relay dependent on the instantaneous mains voltage in the sense of maintaining a constant preset value of current-time product and hence the tube voltage, which determines the radiation dose, irrespective of mains voltage variations. A charged capacitor and a flip-flop relay circuit are used, the former being charged in proportion to the tube current and the flip-flop triggering to end the exposure when the capacitor has charged to the preset required threshold voltage which is adjustable.
