Abstract

A sleeve extending between the adjacent ends of two cables is primed, together with the cable ends, by coating with an epoxide resin which cures to a flexible and parable state. The ends of the sleeve are then sealed by an epoxide putty filled with a flexible substance such as powdered polyethylene, nylon or PVC., and the primer is then cured. Polyethylene sheathed cables can be joined in this way.
