Abstract
Purification consists of continuously coverting the CO component of the exhaust into CO2 where so much additional air to feed to the exhaust that there is sufficient oxygen for a direct combination with the CO content directly behind each outlet valve. This additional air is first raised to such a temp that the temperature of the resulting air/exhaust mixture is not below the entry temp. of the CO. In a chamber before the final expellation of the exhaust, the required mixture temp conditions and an internal mixing of the mixture constituents are produced so that there is a continuous and fast reaction.
