Abstract

Machine has a rib semi-disc which can be pivoted downwards. In the semi-disc are suspension sinkers which can be moved radially to receive and transfer yarn loops from the lower parts of the stitches of one half-cylinder to the needles of the other half-cylinder. At leat two suspension sinkers are provided for each loop to be received and transferred. At least one sinker has a hook which is open upwards in the receiving position of the semi-disc, and at least one has a down curved tongue in this position. The hook, the suspension sinker which receives the loop, and the tongue of the sinker effecting the transfer at least aligned in a common vertical plane when the transfer sinker is in the pivoting position, and the receiving sinker is spaced away such that the leg of the hook and that of the tongue present a free space in the suspension sinker movement direction.
