Abstract
Two tubes are positioned vertically in the container down to the minimum liquid level. One is open at the bottom while the other, acting as a control tube, is closed at its lower end by a valve. This second tube is open at its top end which extends above the maximum attainable level. The first tube is connected to piping containing control apparatus. The piping which acts as a siphon passes down to the bottom of the control tube. The valve automatically opens to connect the interior of the container with that of the control tube during emptying or filling of the container.
