Abstract

Textile bleaching in which the material after passing through a mangle runs over an idler roller, then passes through an impregnating vessel, after which it enters a pivot mounted pressurised heating chamber. A complicated roller arrangement enables the material to follow a long path through the heating chamber, which is partly filled with heated water and a impregnating solution, up to approx. the half way level. In the heating chamber a temp of approx. 120 degrees C is obtained utilising saturated steam. The material then leaves the heating chamber to enter through a pressure light packing sleeve into a non pressurised vessel in which a roller (the so-called bleach tree enables the bleached material to be wound. The impregnating process should preferably be repeated. The so called reaction time being the preparation time in which the material stays in the heating chamber is cut by approx. 50%, due to the high temps. reached, resulting in a better impregnation.
