Sized cellulosic material for paper, free from ground wood and unbleached fibres. The size is for all papers, esp. for books and library manuscripts. The size give improved ageing properties. A continuous surface prepd. from an aqueous pulp is treated with a composition contng. starch and 1-20, pref. 1.5-10% wt. (based on the starch) of a water-soluble salt of a maleic copolymer (I). The product must have PH at least 4.5.
