1386696 Copy sheet G RITZERFELD 28 April 1972 [25 May 1971] 19828/72 Heading A2B A copy sheet for use in a spirit duplicating process comprises a substrate of a substantially wood-free paper or card material which has retained therein or thereon an acidic salt capable of reacting with a basic alcohol-soluble dye to produce a salt having a M.W. greater than that of the acidic salt. By "wood-free paper" is meant paper produced from an alternative source to wood pulp. The acidic salt may be a salt of picric acid, or tungstomolybdic acid, or tannin.
