Abstract

Melamine resin for impregnating paper or fabric contains, on a dry basis, (I) 80-99.5 wt.% of a melamine-formaldehyde condensate, and (II) 0.5-20 wt.% of an N-methylolacrylamide of formula (II): (where R' and R2 are each H or CH3). Product is used in prodn. of laminates. The resin mixt. can be processed in a short time at high temps., and gives products with a better elasticity as a result of the presence of (II). The mixts. also have a low viscosity, and can be easily processed.
