Hollow spindle with rotating axis.
The present invention relates to a hollow spindle with a rotating axis, the purpose of which is to compensate for the radial forces, such as the unbalance, applied to the spindle by the spools of wire, the balancing of which is never very correct.
The hollow shaft of the spindle according to the invention rests on a tubular foot, fixed to the table of the machine, by means of an upper ball bearing, its guidance at its lower part is provided by a ball bearing lower, and the damping of the oscillations due to the rotation of the spool is effected by O-rings made of flexible material, such as rubber, interposed on the one hand between the fixed housing of the upper bearing and its seats and on the other hand , between the upper and lower bearing housings and the cylindrical wall of the tubular foot.
This arrangement has the advantage not only of damping oscillations, but also of achieving very good sound insulation.
To facilitate maintenance of this spindle, there is, moreover, provided in the wall of the tubular foot, a channel parallel to the axis of the foot and opening onto the side faces of the two ball bearings, this channel comprising a deflection opening radially outside the tubular foot and fitted with a grease plug.
In any case, the invention will be well understood, with the aid of the description which follows, with reference to the appended schematic drawing, the only figure of which represents, by way of non-limiting example, an embodiment of this spindle hollow, axial sectional view.
The hollow shaft 2 driven in rotation by means of the pulley 3 and intended to support a spool of wire 4, rests on the bearing surface 5a of a tubular foot 5, via an upper ball bearing 6 In order to damp the axial oscillations of the shaft 2, two O-rings 7 and 8 made of flexible material such as rubber are interposed between the housing 6a of the bearing 6, and on the one hand, the aforementioned bearing surface 5a of the foot tubular 5 and on the other hand, the cover 9 ensuring the axial retention of said housing in the tubular foot 5.
The guiding of the shaft 2 inside the tubular foot 5 is provided by a lower ball bearing 11.
The damping of the radial oscillations is achieved by means of two O-rings 12 and 13, similar to the aforementioned rings 7 and 8, and arranged between the cylindrical wall of the tubular base 5, and on the one hand, the housing 5a of the upper bearing 5 and, on the other hand, the housing 11a of the lower bearing 11. The axial retention of the rings 12 and 13 is ensured by peripheral grooves made in the housings 5a and 11a and serving to partially accommodate them.
Axial retention of the lower bearing is ensured by two nuts 14 screwed to the lower end of shaft 2.
The tubular yarn guide 15 engaged in the lower end of the shaft 2 is fixed to the tubular foot 5 by means of a plug 16, screwed at the lower end of the latter.
For its attachment to the table of the machine, the tubular foot 5 has a shoulder 5b, equipped with a seal 10 held pressed against one side of the table by clamping on the other side of this table, with a washer 17 by means of two nuts 18, screwed onto the external threaded part of the tubular foot 5.
The bearings 6 and 11 are lubricated via a channel 19 formed in the wall of the tubular base 5, parallel to its axis and opening onto the side faces facing the bearings 6 and 11. This channel 19 has a bypass 21 opening radially to the outside of the tubular foot 5, and fitted with a grease plug 22.
As goes without saying, the invention is not limited to the sole embodiment of this hollow spindle with rotating axis which has been described above by way of non-limiting example; on the contrary, it embraces all variant embodiments.
