Abstract

Four-stroke internal combustion engine (figure 1), in which the cylinders lie in the same plane, each connecting rod having its own crankshaft on the outer circumference, which by means of gears 9 are coupled to a central gear 10. The cylinders are connected on both sides to flanges, in which on one side there is an inlet valve 2 and 3 and on the other side an exhaust valve 1, and in these sealing rings with triangular cross- sectional face. On the intake side there is a rotating fresh air port 2 and a gas pot 3, which are open only when the exhaust valve 1 is closed. The exhaust gas flow from a cylinder that was opened last has been used for venting gas in the other cylinders. Exhaust gases deflected by fixed blades are fed to blades or to a pipe in the exhaust flange, in which the gases are purified solely by means of air. In the flange on the intake side there are magnets supplying energy to a rotating spark plug with surface spark gap on both flanges. In a multi- cylinder engine there may also be a rotating connection port, by means of which the gas in a cylinder can be ignited by burning gas in an adjoining cylinder. In a diesel engine a rotating assembly comprising a pressure pump and a pressure valve and a nozzle are controlled by circular rails situated above them. There is an even number of cylinders and opposing pistons cancel out one another's inertial forces, so that the engine cannot vibrate. <IMAGE>
