Abstract

The invention relates to a process for drying timber, the wood being dried by exposing the timber 3, 4, 5, 6 to a warm air flow 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25 during which the timber 3, 4 is kept stationary in each drying chamber 1, 2, and the timber is dried in at least two successive drying stages. According to the invention the timber is divided up in the first drying stage into two batches 3, 4, which are to be dried, following which the batches 5, 6 are combined in the second stage. <IMAGE>
