The invention relates to a container specially designed for storing sausages such as frankfurter sausages or the like. The container is specifically intended for simple and convenient storage of sausages in the container and for rapid chilling or freezing. The tank is gas-tight, so the sausage stays in a more usable condition longer than is possible with other types of sausage storage methods. The container also allows the sausage to be removed from the container because it is possible to manually separate the sausages stored in it.

The container comprises a bowl-shaped part with a base and side walls rising upwards from its circumference. The closure part is placed at the top of the container and closes the bowl-like part tightly, forming a container which is gas-tight. At the bottom of the container part there is a large number of upwardly projecting protrusions, which are preferably in the form of upwardly tapering pyramids. In general, hitherto known applications comprise containers of various shapes for carrying meat and similar commodities. An advantage of the present invention is that the container is specially designed to support the sausages so that they cannot rotate and come into contact with adjacent sausages, but the container is such that sausages of different lengths can be placed in it.

A preferred embodiment of the sausage container 5 is shown exploded in perspective in Figure 1. The lower bowl part 6 can be tightly closed by a closure part 7. The part 7 has a substantially flat central plane 8 and an inverted U-shaped frame 9 rising at the edges. The frame 9 consists of an upwardly rising inner wall 10, outwards from the connecting wall 11 and the outer wall 12. The frame 9 forms a trough-like groove with an inner surface 13 on the wall 12 which forms an angle of about 11.5 ° with the vertical.

The width of the container is about 15 cm, thus allowing ten short sausages or frankfurter sausages to be placed transversely to the length of the container, since the container length is about 25 cm.
