CONSISTE EN LA FERMENTACION POR BACTERIAS FLOTANTES, EN UNA PRIMERA ETAPA EN MEDIO AGITADO POR INTRODUCCION DEL SUSTRATO CON UNA VELOCIDAD SUFICIENTE, PREFERENTEMENTE DE FORMA TANGENCIAL, Y UNA SEGUNDA ETAPA POR CIRCULACION DESCENDENTE A TRAVES DE UN GUARNECIDO FIJADO DISTRIBUIDO DE FORMA REGULAR, DEL MEDIO PROCEDENTE DE LA PRIMERA ETAPA, DURANTE UN TIEMPO DE PERMANENCIA DEL EFLUENTE MAYOR QUE EN LA PRIMERA ETAPA; LOS GASES PRODUCIDOS SE ELIMINAN Y LAS SUSPENSIONES RECOGIDAS DESPUES DE LA DECANTACION SE RECICLAN A LA PRIMERA ETAPA.
