Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the dehydration and filtration of waste liquor remained after distilling sake(liquor) easy, and to prepare a feed from a suspended organic matter in the waste liquor, by inoculating the waste liquor with specific microorganisms so that they are cultivated and propagated aerobically.
CONSTITUTION: Waste liquor remained after distilling sake, containing viscous matter of starch and saccharose as ethanol-soluble substances, which are not easily dehydrated and filtered, is inoculated with one or more microorganisms selected from the group consisting of yeast, e.g., Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Candida arborea, etc., a bacterium, e.g., Pseudomonas metironica, capable of assimilating a liquid hydrocarbon, e.g., ethanol, methanol, N-paraffin, etc. The microorganisms are cultivated and propagated while feeding oxygen so that bonded carbon groups are cut, the waste liquor is dehydrated and filtered readily, suspended organic matter in the waste liquor and the propagation of the microorganisms cause the increase in remaining solid material and protein so that the residue remained after filtration is made a feed.
