ESTE AVANCE SE EFECTUA POR MEDIO DE UN MECANISMO INTERMITENTE AXIAL Y ACTUA EN EL RODILLO DE ESCRITURA ACCIONADO POR DOS LEVAS DE ESPACIADO. LA CABEZA COMPRENDE UNA PLACA DE MATERIAL AISLANTE CON VEINTE ELEMENTOS RESISTIVOS ESCRITORES PUNTIFORMES Y VA FIJADA A UN SOPORTE MOVIDO PARALELAMENTE AL RODILLO POR MEDIO DE UNA LEVA. LAS LEVAS DE ESPACIADO Y LA LEVA DE AVANCE SE ENCUENTRAN DISPUESTOS EN UN CILINDRO UNICO. UNA PLACA DE CIRCUITO IMPRESO FIJADA A LA ESTRUCTURA DE LA IMPRESORA LLEVA UNAS PISTAS CONCENTRICAS QUE SON RECORRIDAS POR UN CONTACTO DESLIZANTE MONTADO EN EL CILINDRO DE LAS LEVAS PARA OBTENER LAS SEÑALES DE SINCRONIZACION DE LOS IMPULSOS DE ESCRITURA.
