Abstract

1. A light lorry equipped with an excavator for rapid deployment, of a type comprising a chassis (3) carrying a free horizontal rear platform (9), an excavator (2) mounted on a turret (10) which can be rotated by 360 degrees relative to the chassis (3) and comprising a boom (11, 12, 13) carrying and operating a bucket (14), said excavator (2) being movable between a working position in which it is extended towards the rear of the lorry (1) and overhangs the latter, and a rest position in which it is folded up towards the front of the lorry, characterised in that the boom is formed by at least three arms (11, 12, 13) articulated on one another, in that the turret is drop mounted in an intermediate chassis (28) fixed to the main chassis (3) of the lorry and in that, of two of the three articulated arms (13, 11) of short reach and situated at the ends of the boom (2), one is connected to the bucket (14) and the other to the turret (10), whereas the intermediate arm (12) is of greater length corresponding approximately to the length of the platform (9) of the lorry (1), the arms (11, 12, 13) and the bucket (14) being able to pivot with respect to one another under the action of four double-action jacks (15, 17, 18, 19), which arms, when the boom is in the folded-up position, take up reciprocal positions defining an isosceles triangle with its point towards the bottom and whose base, formed by the intermediate arm (12), is slightly inclined with respect to the horizontal at a level corresponding to the height of the roof of the cabin (5) of the lorry (1).
