Abstract

A crane mounted on a lorry can be attached to a point immediately behind the driver's cab, with the arm (1) nearest the cab vertical, and all the remainder can be extended horizontally towards the rear of the vehicle. When not in use, the whole of this horizontal part can be folded over in a stowed position. The first arm portion (2) which is hinged to the vertical arm portion (2) which is hinged to the vertical arm (1) has a rear hinge (10) and a front hinge (4) connected to an L-shaped link (5) on the next arm portion (3). A hydraulic cylinder (12) swings between the first (1) and second (2) parts, and another cylinder (9) swings on the rear hinge (10) and another hinge at the rear of the L-shaped link (5). Due to the front hinge (4), the end of the second arm is below the third arm (3) when both arms are horizontal. A fourth arm (7) can fold paralle to the third arm (3) when stowed, with a further cylinder (13) between them.
